Video review: Ordinary magazine
Independent design magazines seem to be very interested in ordinary at the moment. Dirty Furniture focuses on couches, tables and other pieces of design we use every day, while MacGuffin is interested in the real lives of ordinary things.
But the most extraordinary treatment of ordinary objects comes in Ordinary magazine. Each issue they choose an anonymous piece of design and challenge artists to reimagine it, printing the results without any written commentary across a series of big, beautiful spreads.
