Selling magazines
Mandatory information
- When you buy from us, you will need to provide personal information like name, email address, shipping and billing addresses. For subscriptions this information is stored securely by Chargebee, our subscriptions management provider, and is used to process payments and deliver magazines to you or your recipients. - For single purchases this information is stored securely by Shopify, our online store provider, and is used to process payments and deliver magazines to you or your recipients. Read about Shopify’s privacy policy.
- Shipping addresses and email addresses and telephone numbers (for tracked orders only) are shared securely with Newsstand, our fulfilment provider, so that they can package and dispatch magazines via Royal Mail, MHI and DHL. Newsstand receive limited information from us and they will not use this information for any purpose other than packing and dispatching magazines. Read about Newsstand’s privacy policy.
- Email addresses provided during the purchase process are used to contact you about your purchase. This includes automated emails from Chargebee, for example confirming a purchase, notifying you of the end of your subscription, or confirming a change to your details.
- It also includes a monthly email sent to you or your recipient, confirming that a magazine is on its way. We use Mailchimp to manage these emails, and you can unsubscribe from them at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of the email. Read about Mailchimp’s privacy policy.
- When you buy from us, you will need to provide payment details in one of the following forms:
- Card payment, processed by Stripe
- Direct Debit or bank payment, processed by GoCardless
- PayPal payment, processed by PayPal
- Your payment details are processed and stored securely by the payment providers named above. Stack does not process or store your card or bank account details. Read about Stripe, GoCardless and PayPal’s privacy policies.
Optional information
- When you buy from us, you can choose to provide a telephone number. This information is stored securely by Chargebee, our subscriptions management provider, and is used to contact you or your recipient about the delivery of your magazines and the management of your subscription. Read about Chargebee’s privacy policy.
- If you choose to provide your telephone number it will only ever be used to contact you regarding the management of your subscription, and it will never be used for marketing or other purposes.
- You may also choose to sign up to our email newsletter, which includes magazine news and offers. We use Mailchimp to manage these emails, and you can unsubscribe from them at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of the email. Read about Mailchimp’s privacy policy.
Content
Our CMS (content management system) is provided by WordPress. Read WordPress’s privacy policy. We also use the following services to help present the content on Stack:

Cookies
We use cookies to improve your experience on Stack. A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. This can then be used to remember your actions and preferences. We also use the following third-party services that set cookies:

Security
Our website uses https, which means that anything sent between your device and our servers will be encrypted. Our SSL certificate tells you that pages you visit on our website are provided by us. Our website is hosted on secure servers by MediaTemple and Webfaction.
