WePresent London launch
The recently reborn WePresent magazine is a brilliantly nuts experiment investigating the power of design in storytelling. It’s produced by WePresent, the digital arts platform of WeTransfer, and each issue, three different designers are handed the words and pictures and invited to create their own version of the magazine, with three separate versions released alongside each other. It makes for a fascinating reading experience, and a rare example of exactly how the order, layout and pacing of stories can affect the way they’re understood by a reader.
The best way to appreciate the differences is by viewing all three versions side by side, and if you’re going to be in London on Monday 12th December you can do exactly that, at our launch party for the new issue. We’re going to be at The Hoxton, Shepherd’s Bush from 7pm, and we’d love you to come along and have a drink, hear senior editor Liv Siddall speak about the making of the magazine, and then take home all three versions so you can properly explore their differences.
The designers this time are Paula Scher in New York, Eike König in Berlin, and Turbo in Amman, and the design and editorial both draw upon ideas of place and community as a way of informing the three totally different versions of the same magazine. Tickets are free but space is limited, so reserve your place and I hope we’ll see you there for some pre-Christmas drinks and magazine fun.
