Current affairs Film

It’s no secret that we love magazines here at Stack, but it may surprise you to know that we have other interests too. Films for example — we love films. And no one brings the two together quite like Shelf Heroes.

Turning its cinematic eye to a different letter of the alphabet for each issue, Shelf Heroes’ latest offering is full of top notch writing and illustrations on an impressively diverse array of films. From Honey, I Shrunk The Kids to Hellraiser, the magazine’s “H” issue has something for pretty much everyone, whether you’re into horror or heartwarming comedies.

With Shelf Heroes having joined the Stack family in September and arrived on our members’ doorsteps last month, in November 2018. Our subscribers loved this beautifully-curated testament to cinematic passion — scroll down to see what some of them thought about their magazines. Our favourite, at the bottom, wins a newly branded Stack t-shirt.

5. The frequent contributor
Norman always brings the goods. As per usual we can’t see his face here, but we’re sure he’s as happy receive Shelf Heroes as we were to send it out.

4. The collector
A Shelf Hero in her own right, no doubt our latest delivery is going to find itself in good company with this Stack subscriber’s collection.

3. Fade to black
A classic look. You can’t fault it.

A very exciting issue of @shelfheroes full of stories, illustrations, comics and expressions created after watching a movie starting with the alphabet “H”.

2. Commitment to the cause
They had a lot to work with here, but Stack subscriber Eve Martin has really pulled out all the stops here with her own letter H-themed film selection. Fantastic stuff.

1. The aesthetic minimalist
While it’s not hard to make Shelf Heroes look good, this contender has it down to a tee. A classic case of less is more.
