Dumbo Feather joins Stack
I was massively impressed by the 10th anniversary issue of Dumbo Feather when I saw it a couple of months ago, so I’m very happy to announce that the Australian magazine of mindfulness has become the latest title to join Stack.
It’s a fairly major logistical undertaking to get the copies shipped from Australia to the UK to then send them out from here, but it’s definitely going to be worth it. (Stack subscribers in Australia and New Zealand will receive an alternative magazine that month – there’s no point shipping things all the way around the world just to have them end up back where they started!)
A magazine dedicated to the Q&A format, Dumbo Feather gives its interviewees space and time to really express themselves, and whether they’re major international stars or unknown innovators doing things their own way, the result is always brilliantly illuminating. And that’s no coincidence – any magazine that has been running for more than 10 years has had chance to hone its craft, and in her Stack interview, editor and publisher Berry Liberman explains her editorial motivation:
“You know those moments when someone explains something in a way that you ‘knew’ but you never quite crystalised in your mind? It’s like an epiphany! Those are the moments that make storytelling a wonderful business to be part of, and I think magazines really provide a platform for making those connections.”
Watch out for it coming from Stack soon, along with lots of other fantastic magazines in 2015.
