Mid-length movies from Electric Sheep
The March delivery of Stack was Electric Sheep, the film magazine that “explores the darkest corners of the cinematic basement”. If you’ve seen a copy you’ll know its love for the generally off-beat and unusual, but now it’s dedicating an entire festival to one particular type of cinematic oddity.
The mid-length film, too long to be a short and not long enough to be a full feature, has always fallen between the cracks of the film world. And so it is that Electric Sheep’s publisher has decided to give these misfit movies a home, even if only for one day, at the Cinephilia Mid-Length Film Jam on the 26th of April.
The event will be held at VibeLive in Brick Lane, and will run from 1pm to 11.15pm, screening a steady stream of films that clock in at around half an hour to an hour. Sounds like a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
