Podcast: The Pitchfork Review
This has been a crazy week. I’ve spent the last few days following Google Maps around New York, speaking to magazine makers and holding a series of events showcasing some of the city’s best independent publishing. It’s been a blast, and I’m really excited to share some of the audio I’ve been collecting along the way.
I’ve recorded lots of interviews, as well as the live events themselves, and I’ll share them as podcasts over the coming weeks, but for this first one I’m going to start with Noelle Roth and Matthew Schnipper from The Pitchfork Review. I went to visit them yesterday at the Conde Nast offices on the 40th floor of the World Trade Center, and was fascinated to get a brief glimpse of what it’s like to produce a magazine, a massively successful website, and a pair of international music festivals. Needless to say, they’re very busy people, so I’m very grateful to them for giving me their time.
I’m also grateful to Park Communications, who have been with me out here in New York for the last few days, and who are sponsoring this series of podcasts. I’ve seen first-hand this week how excited they get about working with independent magazines, so if you have a print project you’re planning, drop them a line, and don’t forget to tell them that Stack sent you!
I hope you enjoy this week’s episode – if you want to make sure you hear all our podcasts as they’re released, follow us on Soundcloud or iTunes, or search ‘Stack magazines’ in your preferred podcast place, and we’ll deliver them direct to you.
