Printout does the business
We made it. As of the end of this month, we’ll have been doing Printout for two years. That’s 12 events talking about the finer points of independent magazines, and at pretty much every one of those events there has been at least one question about how publishers make their magazines pay.
It’s a thorny question, but since it’s so popular we decided to devote an entire evening to it. If you want to know how to get started with a magazine that can become a healthy, sustainable business, this is the Printout for you. We’ve drafted in some of the most successful independent publishers in town to share their secrets and take your questions, and as ever there will be lots of time afterwards for having a drink and chatting it up.
So who are our business experts on the panel?
Will Hudson is the co-founder of It’s Nice That, and will be speaking about the lessons he learned there and how he’s applying those learnings to his new project.
Cathy Olmedillas is the founder and editor of Anorak, and will talk about the long and winding road towards profitability.
Bruce Sandell is the publisher of Rouleur and Privateer, and will share his insights on building a following for a magazine and making it pay.
Tickets Cost £5 and available from the usual place. This should be a really interesting event so book early to avoid disappointment!
