This week’s Sampler offer is Fathers Quarterly, the Polish magazine packed with tales of modern fatherhood.

There are lots of magazines around at the moment that deal in mindfulness – there’s something about the relative slowness of print that sits well with the idea of taking your time to figure out what’s really important in life, and there are some great examples in the genre. It’s an approach that has been applied to coffee (Drift), travel (Cereal) and basically every single aspect of life (Kinfolk) but Fathers is the first time I’ve seen it applied to family.

Like those other magazines, Fathers goes big on beautiful photography and illustration, hopping around the world to find stories of men who are figuring out how to be fathers. But it does so with a distinctly Eastern European tone, and I’m really interested to see whether this magazine ends up blazing a trail for other publishers in the region who have the ambition to make a quality magazine for a global audience.

If all this sounds like it might be up your street, head over to the Sampler site for a story list and some sample spreads, and of course the big button that lets you buy your copy at 10% off, with free delivery to the UK, Europe and USA, or subsidised delivery everywhere else.

Happy reading!
