Independent fashion magazine night
What does fashion look like on the printed page today? We’re partnering with Ravensbourne University to take a deep dive into the ideas and motivations behind three of today’s most disruptive independent fashion magazines.
Our Material Worlds event will take place on Wednesday 4 March, bringing together three publishers who each use fashion in very different ways. The evening will kick off with a series of presentations introducing the magazines, then the publishers will take part in a panel discussion that digs further into their work.
The publishers will all be selling their magazines and merchandise on the night, and of course we’ve left plenty of time for drinks at the end, so you’ll be able to pick up the conversation with the magazine makers afterwards.
Come along to hear from the following:
Apex
Diving into the intersection of AI, identity, and digital culture, Apex journeys through past, present, and future to offer fresh perspectives on our evolving digital selves.
Sanxtuary
An annual magazine featuring and creating space for the BIPOC and queer trailblazers of fashion and beauty, Sanxtuary exists to celebrate and elevate marginalised creatives.
Useless
A big, impractical, heavily pixelated newsprint magazine, Useless takes a playful, gently humorous approach, poking fun at the most ridiculous excesses of fashion while also totally loving it.
