Sumptuous shots from the new Odda magazine
A biannual New York title, Odda encapsulates many of the more indulgent qualities of the traditional ‘fashion magazine’: it is 465 pages long; most of the items of clothes advertised cost more than £1,000; one full page is devoted to a close-cropped picture of a pair of breasts and they are covered in cream.
Despite (or perhaps because) of these things — despite myself — I pored over every page. Shoots are organised by designer, with around 11 double-spreads devoted to Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Armani respectively, and the settings, like the clothes, are luxurious. The Armani shoot, for example, is set in Italy and features lots of semi-naked men (which I am choosing to read as a gesture towards sexual equality, in light of the cream/ breasts shot).
Below are some of the most sumptuous shots.
