Stack in 2024 – part two
I’m writing this on the day before Christmas Eve, and it really feels like the end of the year. Email has gone quiet, and London is emptying out and settling down as people head off to wherever they’re going to be spending the next few days. It’s the perfect time, then, to present the second part of our podcast looking back at the magazines we delivered to Stack subscribers this year.
Part one came out a couple of weeks ago, focusing on the magazines we delivered from January to May, and this second instalment takes us from June to October. (All the audio used comes from our Stack Magazine Club nights, and we’ll be covering our November and December deliveries on two dates in January, so they’re not part of this selection.)
Listening back to the episode I’m struck by the variety across the selection. That’s partly down to the subject matter – the five magazines featured in this episode cover an eclectic range, including food, music, and gardening. But more importantly, the motivations behind publishing these magazines are all totally different, and I think that comes across in the small chunks of audio, giving a nice taste of what makes these creative projects so special. In order, you’ll hear from Serviette, Nobody, The Fence, Get Familiar and Pleasant Place.
Of course the best way of really appreciating these magazines is to hold them in your hands, and they’re all available to buy via the Stack shop. Or even better, get the full Stack experience by signing up to our magazine club and we’ll send a different surprise to your door every month in 2025. (If that sounds tempting, make sure you listen through to the end of this episode and you’ll hear a special discount code for podcast listeners.)
