No One magazine explores queer nightlife
Viêt and Jeremy Raider-Hoàng are the founders, editors and creative directors of No One, a new magazine that explores the queer nightlife of a different city each issue. We met at the start of this month at Indiecon in Hamburg, and we took the opportunity to sit down and record this conversation on a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning before people started to arrive for the final day of the fair. If you’ve seen any of the pictures that came out of Indiecon you’ll know it was hot – Hamburg was having a weird late summer heatwave, but we sat in the shade of a little tree overlooking the River Elbe and spoke about the ideas behind their magazine.
As I say during the conversation, this magazine feels very at ease with itself – it seems natural to marry nightlife and queer culture, and you can tell that there are big, serious ideas behind their impulse to document the hedonistic fun. And I loved hearing about the details of making the magazine, including the crazy dedication that led to them placing 10,000 stickers by hand on the covers. It was lovely speaking with them, and I hope you’ll enjoy this conversation with Viêt and Jeremy.
