Polish politics and memories of Chernobyl
In Berlin Quarterly’s Spring 2021 issue, there is a marked focus on the East. We begin with journalist Zuzanna Bukłaha’s reportage on the current political and social fissures in her native Poland, and end in Russia, with Michael Marder’s memoir about Chernobyl, accompanied by Anaïs Tondeur’s cyanotypes of vegetation from the exclusion zones. It’s a challenging, beautiful read. See our video review for a guide.
