Sampler: Nous, #8 The Play Issue
It seems like independent magazines are purposefully putting a certain lightheartedness on the newsstands. Nous is a magazine about mind culture, and their latest issue wants to access our inner thoughts through the idea of play.
This can range from video games to drug experimentation, and the issue untangles topics to do with relationships, addictions, and other mental blocks we wrestle with. It’s beautifully printed in risograph, and made by hand in Manchester. Because of their limited run, we only have 70 copies available for Sampler this week, which means, if you like the sound of it, make sure you don’t miss out.
In this issue:
— At a queer play party, we see how it feels to be the last one picked for the team
— Can playing Grand Theft Auto be therapeutic?
— Self expression via drug experimentation
— A bicycle thief makes two friends redefine ‘fun’
— Stroll through forgotten Soviet playgrounds and football fields
— And Ami Nash is living the California Cult Dream playing with alternative forms of the everyday
Sampler is an weekly offer we do to bring you newly launched magazines. It’s always 10% off and free shipping to the US, UK and Europe, but there’s a limit to how many copies we’re able to reserve, so don’t sleep on it!
