How comfortable are you with mess?
Der Greif’s thirteenth issue is guest-edited by the artist Penelope Umbrico, who sent a call-out for images of ‘surplus’. Printed entirely on surplus paper found lying around Der Greif’s printers, the issue features broken office chairs, compost, and old brooms. Umbrico wanted to create an underlying narrative about order and disorder, and so the pages are intentionally unbound, which means it is virtually impossible to keep them in sequence — making the reading experience fun, or immensely challenging, depending on how OCD you are.
