Primary Paper’s impulsive approach to photography
Jessica McGowan and Coco Cassibba are the art director and fashion director of photography magazine Primary Paper. The title started without any grand plan – the word they use to describe the process is “impulsive”, as they set out to make something based on the work they love. In this conversation they speak about what they’ve learned along the way, why print is so important to the project, and why they love not having a client. If you’d like to see more, head over to the Stack shop for lots of spreads and a story list from this latest issue, and of course to buy one for yourself.
This is our last episode of the podcast for 2019 – we’ll be back in 2020 but as I’m typing this I don’t have any conversations lined up waiting to be edited, so we won’t be back at it straight away in the new year. Of course we have lots of other episodes waiting for you in our archives on Soundcloud and iTunes, and you should be able to find us pretty much anywhere you normally get your podcasts. And if you follow us while you’re there, we’ll be able to deliver our next episode to you as soon as it’s ready, probably in the latter half of January 2020…
