212 magazine is a large format arts and culture biannual based out of Istanbul. Even though it was born in the city where east meets west (as the love-worn cliche goes), the magazine seeks to transcend the loaded dichotomies of Istanbul’s favourite metaphor, and extends its gaze far beyond the region.
Focusing on arts, culture and society, each edition tackles various universal subjects within a distinct theme. This seventh issue’s theme is ‘Awakening’.
In this issue:
- Interview with authors Olga Tokarczuk and Ottessa Mosfegh
- Fashion stories by Turkina Faso and Szilveszter Makó
- Photo essays by Nadia Lee Cohen, Aimée Hoving, Daniel Shipp, Tom Chambers, Jeeyoung Lee and Mária Žvarbová
- Artworks by James Mortimer
- Short stories by Leyla Erbil, Elif Türkölmez, Melisa Kesmez, Mevsim Yenice and Joyce Carol Oates
