A gentlemanly duck, plastic cutlery and Star Trek battled it out yesterday for best cover of April, and we’re pleased to announce the winner: Ordinary magazine! It will now go up as a contender for ‘People’s Cover of 2016’ on 23 December. We have been putting up the most popular covers from each month of the year on the Stack Instagram, and getting tweeters to vote for their favourite, with the best response walking away with a year-long Stack subscription.

This melancholy haiku from Mathieu was pretty unbeatable — we’ll be in touch shortly to set up your subscription!

Don’t sweat it if you missed out yesterday because we’re going full steam ahead with today’s voting. Scroll down to see your contenders — the three most liked covers from May — and tweet us your choice of the winner to receive 12 months of independent magazines for 2017.

The latest issue of @popshotmag continues the mission of combining poetry and short stories with illustration. Check the Popshot site to see the animated construction of this cover by @thomas_danthony…
