Magazine covers of the Year: January
So here we are. The end of the year. (Almost).
All year I’ve been taking pictures of magazine covers and posting them on Instagram. Some time around March I realised that the number of likes each picture got was a rough indicator of that cover’s success, so I started publishing top 10 lists of the most popular magazine covers of the year so far.
And now, 162 covers and more than 15,000 likes later, it’s time to look back at the year and name some overall winners.
Every weekday between now and 23 December I’ll post the three most popular covers from each month, according to the number of likes on Instagram. Each day you’ll be able to vote for your favourite by tweeting the name of the magazine with the hashtag #cover2014, and at 6pm GMT we’ll count up the votes and announce that day’s winner. We’ll also choose one voter at random every day to win a year’s free subscription to Stack.
Then on Christmas Eve we’ll publish the 12 overall winners of the year together, and if anyone’s still around and looking at their phones we’ll have a final vote to name the cover of the year. Or if it looks like everyone’s just gone down the pub we’ll do that instead.
So let’s begin. Take a look at the images below to see the three most popular covers from January, drop us a tweet to tell us which is your favourite, and you could win an entire year of excellent independent magazines delivered to your door in 2015. Good luck!
So there you go. Tweet your favourite to @stackmagazines with the hashtag #cover2014. Go!
