Preview – Internet Age Media Weekend
One of the big misconceptions around print is the idea that the internet is the enemy. Yes, people are spending less time with print and more time online, and yes, that has left the world’s biggest publishers struggling to see the way forward.
But it has also released an incredible array of small independent print publishers, all of whom are busy zigzagging around, figuring out how to turn their beloved magazines into sustainable businesses. I’m totally fascinated by the ways digital can be used to sell print, so I’m really looking forward to speaking at IAM Weekend from 7-10 April alongside a bunch of other people who are puzzling over this stuff from their own angles.
Or as the website says; “Understanding the patterns of stories that are shaping the futures of media, learning and internet culture. Connecting diverse perspectives… ‘Because perspectives are the shit'”.
