Making Sex Magazine (with no sex)
Asher Penn is the editor and founder of Sex Magazine, a title that publishes brilliantly personal Q&A interviews with artists, musicians, filmmakers and other creative people. (It’s worth noting upfront that this is definitely not a sex magazine.) In this episode of the Stack podcast Asher explains how the magazine has evolved over the years, where the suggestive name came from, and how he has developed his characteristic style, which draws upon his interviewees’ life experiences as a way to understand their creative output.
We have copies of Sex available to buy in the Stack shop at the moment so please do head over there if you want to pick one up for yourself, or to take a flick through some more spreads and the story list. And we also have lots of other podcast episodes waiting for you – have a listen over on Soundcloud or wherever else you get your podcasts, and of course if you follow us while you’re there we’ll be able to keep on delivering new episodes to you as soon as they’re ready every Friday.
