Video review: Works That Work
Last month we sent out Works That Work to Stack subscribers, so for the first video review of 2015 I wanted to talk briefly about why I like it so much. (Except I wasn’t very brief – a week off has left me out of practice and I waffled on a bit more than I should have.)
The magazine is fascinated by people who use their creativity to solve problems; a beautifully simple concept that leads to original angles on familiar stories. In the video I pick out the examples of the siege of Sarajevo and the organisation of the Kumbh Mela, but there are lots of similar stories I could have mentioned if I hadn’t been against the clock.
And remember, if you live in or around Amsterdam and you’d like to see Works That Work editor Peter Bil’ak speaking about the magazine, come to our Stack Live event at the Athenaeum bookshop on the evening of 29 January. Entry is free and it’s guaranteed to be a fascinating night of independent publishing talk.
