Big pages and big ideas in Dispatches
Marius Sosnowski is deputy editor of Dispatches, a large-format magazine of ideas published out of Berkeley in California, and inspired by that city’s intellectual and counter-cultural heritage. As he explains in this conversation, Dispatches was always intended as a big publication, and they make the most of those oversized pages by packing them with text – this is definitely a magazine that needs to be read.
We delivered Dispatches to Stack subscribers in July so if you’re in our independent magazine club I hope you’ve already seen this one. We’ll have copies of issue two in the Stack shop soon, but in the meantime you can find copies of issue one available to buy. I’m going to be on holiday for the next couple of weeks so the Stack podcast will be taking a break, but we’ll be back in September for lots more conversations with independent magazine makers speaking about what they do – follow us wherever you get your podcasts and we’ll be able to send those new episodes to you as soon as they’re ready.
