A magazine that grew out of Beirut, Al Hayya is an ambitious title published in both English and Arabic that shines a light on, “the works, interests and strife of women,” across the Arab world and beyond. This second issue focuses on women’s bodies and the land they live on, and the many ways that, “colonisation, capitalism, and heteropatriarchy” are used to restrict women’s freedoms.
