The tree is up, the Christmas music is playing, and we’re powering on through to Christmas Eve. (Incidentally, if you still need to buy presents, we can help you out with our email gift cards. Check the details to pick the subscription that’s right for your nearest and dearest.)

But I’m getting distracted. Friday’s vote was another incredibly close contest, but in the end Mood magazine won it by just one vote. Art directors take note: putting a pie on the cover is powerful stuff, inducing denial…

…and abstraction…

But my favourite pie vote of them all was from Purples, who gets straight to the point of getting to the point. Good work Purples – I’ll be in touch today to organise your free subscription.

Would you like to win like Purples? Well you can. Take a look at the covers below, pick your favourite and tweet it with the hashtag #cover2014 before midnight tonight. We’ll count the votes up and will announce the winner first thing tomorrow morning.

Fresh out of Latvia, @benjiknewman is a brilliant piece of enigmatic publishing. But who exactly is Benji Knewman? Check our behind the scenes interview on the Stack blog this morning for the bizarre back story…

Ink on headlines is just so 20th century. After Monday's picture of the embossed white cover on Kiblind, today we have the debossed loveliness of @anewtypeofimprint – a magazine to celebrate Norway's creative community.

"A celebration of food and ideas", @eatdrinktoast explores modern British food culture.
