Breaking the rules
Recorded live at our Independent Magazine Fair, held at Mortimer House in London on Saturday, the 14th of May, this special episode of the Stack podcast features our panel on Breaking the Rules. Our second panel of the day, it followed on from a session on How to Make a Magazine (released on the podcast last week) and I wanted to follow that with a discussion that looks at some of the more unconventional ways of publishing a magazine.
Our panel of speakers featured David McKendrick, editor of Paperboy; Caspian Whistler, creative director and editor-in-chief of A Profound Waste of Time; and Jack Self, editor-in-chief of Real Review. Of course there’s no single correct way to make a magazine, and as you’ll hear in this episode, independent publishers find all sorts of different routes around the challenges they face.
