What is Found You Magazine?
It is a place for experimental and deeply personal storytelling. It is a way to spotlight the rich well of writers and artists I am grateful to be a part of here on unceded Coast Salish territories.
What makes it different from the rest?
It has been titled a “magazine” but really I think of it more like a personal diary. Each issue stands to represent a chapter of my own personal life.
Who makes Found You Magazine?
This project is spearheaded largely by myself, but would not be what it is without the vibrant work of each writer and artist. In addition, our work extends to the Found You Magazine podcast. The podcast would not be possible without the generous support of our audio and recording engineer Thomas Hoeller and our producer Natalie Dusek.
Who reads it?
Those who are interested in the inner lives of others.
Why do you work in magazines?
It’s the medium where all the things I love can intersect.
Aside from the print magazine, what else are you involved in?
In addition to Found You Magazine, I publish a monthly print zine of my own personal musings titled falowair. I am also available for publishing commissions including chapbooks, art books, and other projects.
What would you change about Found You Magazine if you could?
I love reinventing the project with each new issue. One of the great things about independent publishing is that things can easily turn on a dime.
Where do you see Found You Magazine in five years?
Through an obsidian mirror.
