Skaters who smile in Oh-So magazine
From 10-year-old Sky Brown to Brazilian pro Pamela Rosa, Oh-So magazine showcases a wide range of women and girls who skate. It’s built around a simple structure of Q&A interviews, but it’s elevated with lovely design touches like pull quotes that weave across the page like the trail left by a tiny skateboard, and big, abstracted letterforms that kick off each article.
It’s all the brainchild of designer Rob Hewitt, who was inspired to start a magazine celebrating women skateboarders when his own seven-year-old daughter got into the sport and couldn’t find anything that wasn’t aimed at men. You can read more about that in our interview with Rob, or if you’d like to see the magazine for yourself, head over to the Stack shop and pick up a copy of this second issue.
