Every issue Flaneur sets off for a different city and spends months living on and around a single street, creating a brilliantly dense picture of the place. For this latest issue they travelled to Taipei and ended up focusing on Kangding Road / Wanda Road, using the people and businesses based there, plus local history, religion, myths and legends to create a vivid and totally distinctive vision of the area, and Taipei more generally.
I’m a massive fan of Flaneur and their last issue on Treze de Maio in Sao Paulo was one of the best things I read last year. This new one is right up there with it, painting a brilliantly rich picture of a city and a country I didn’t know much about. Take a look at the video above for a quick look inside the new issue, and if you like what you see head over to the Stack shop to pick up a copy for yourself.
