Safar is a visual culture magazine published in Lebanon. The sixth issue is themed ‘Power’ and was partly conceived in response to the 2020 explosion in Beirut. It features a female bodybuilder on the cover, and many thoughtful approaches to dismantling the existing power structures inside, including a conversation between Tala Safié and Kelly Walters about decolonising design, and a poignant, beautiful piece about the state-sanctioned murder of a young wrestler, Navid Afkari, in Tehran. See our video review for a guide to this stunning piece of print.
